The EP, titled “自分を知る (Know Yourself)”, is an attempted take on the fascinating genre of Vaporwave and the sub genres around it. Using influences that have been gathered from Massive Attack, Flying Lotus, Blues Guitar, A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Japanese Video Games, and various sources of pop culture, and the use of Garageband for the iPhone, which helped form the previous EP, “Ramona Flowers”, This 5 Track EP (Fully produced via Audacity & Garageband app for the iPhone) helps _ŴⓐẕѺŴƧҜì_ take the sounds he has been inspired by, and make them coexist with the core values of what makes vaporwave so great. The 5 tracks cover Vaporfunk/Future Funk, dreamy, ambient traditional vaporwave, and the mysterious genre that is signalwave. This project will be followed up by 2 more in the “Know Yourself” Trilogy, as well an ambitious full length album currently in the works.
